Kuala Kubu Bharu , An Adventure - Packed Town

About Kuala Kubu Bharu

Historically, the town was widely known for its active tin-mining since the 1870s. Some labelled Kuala Kubu Bharu as ‘the town that refused to die’ after famously surviving a massive flood that hit in 1883. Originally known as Kuala Kubu, the town was rebuilt after surviving said flood and renamed as Kuala Kubu Bharu in 1883, with the addition of ‘Bharu’, which translates to ‘new’ into its name.
Kuala Kubu Bharu was designed in 1925 by the first British Federated Malay States and is known as Asia’s first garden township, also notable for being an important water catchment area in Selangor.
